Dia De Los Muertos is an all around special holiday because it brings back late relatives to celebrate their lives but the background of how this beautiful holiday started is barley brought up. The story starts around 3000 years ago with the Azteca's and Nahua, they believed that once a person is dying they must complete a journey of several years before their soul finally reaches the land of the dead. The Nahua way of honoring the dead was by leaving out food, water, and tools to help the dead in their journey.
